A new look for a brand new site.

The Redeem Website

Redeem is a global leader in re-commerce solutions for a range of hand-held technologies across the operator, retail, consumer and business wireless sectors. Following several years of significant growth and changes to the core service offering, Redeem underwent a brand development exercise. Following the completion of Redeem’s new brand guidelines, it was decided that a refresh of the company’s website would be the perfect place to begin the rollout of the new corporate look.

Having played a central role in the development of the new brand guidelines, I was tasked with leading the project. The website needed to cater to a global audience across a range of sectors, so careful consideration of the structure and user flows was required. There was also going to be no support from the development team for the site build, which needed to be planned around.

Conducting meetings with the product owner throughout the project I carried out the following tasks:

  • Gathered essential business requirements through briefing

  • Researched and identified best platform for site build

  • Settled on Squarespace as it reduced the need for extensive coding due to lack of dev support

  • Defined user profiles

  • Created sitemap structure from supplied draft content

  • Created detailed wireframes

  • Went straight to build due to using Squarespace platform

  • Conducted informal user tests of prototype builds

  • Refined design based on findings from tests

  • Passed final build to development team for domain linking

The Redeem website was launched on time and on budget, despite some changes to the core content and structure at an advanced stage of the project. Using the Squarespace platform helped massively in accommodating these changes without impacting the delivery date and the new branded look was well received across the organisation.
